Hold My Hand (Babies #27 & 28, Part 1) New Beginnings Chapter 6

Becks P.O.V

"There are never any good magazines in here," Logan complained, tossing another magazine about pregnancy and motherhood to the side.
We had been waiting at the Artificial Insemination clinic for over an hour, and Logan was getting antsy.

"You should have brought a book."

"I didn't think we would be waiting this long!" Logan whined, sifting through another pile of faded magazines.
"Hey look its me!" he exclaimed, and I looked over to see him holding up a magazine with him and 2 other shirtless men on the cover, inches from my face.

"Woah! Too close to my face!" I pushed the magazine back, then took a good look at it.
Logan was posing, rather sexily, with a dark brown haired man with striking blue eyes, and a tanned man with blue hair and dark eyes.
"When was this?" I asked, prying my eyes away from the magazine.

"Umm, not too long after we met," Logan said. He laid the magazine in his lap, occasionally smiling at the pictures.
"Haha! I remember this one! Jackson wouldn't take off his shirt and Aiden offered to take it off for him."
We both laughed.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fey?" Logan and I looked up from the magazine to see a nurse.
The nurse looked at me.
"Mrs. Fey, we're ready for you in the room," She said and both Logan and I choked. My face turned bright red and Logan looked at the floor.

"Um... We're not married," I explained to the nurse, who quickly looked at her clip board.

"Oh, so sorry. My mistake," She apologized. "Anyways we are ready for you in the room, just follow me."
I got up, my butt aching from sitting in the uncomfortable plastic chair. The nurse started to lead me from the waiting room, when I looked back and saw Logan, still sitting in his chair. I stopped.

"You're coming, right?" I asked, and Logan looked up at me from his chair.

"Sure," Logan said, and we walked into the room hand in hand.

~*~*~*~*~

"Paige! Get back here! You need a bath!"

"NO!"

A butt naked Paige ran across the living room with Neil in pursuit.

"Dammit, I forgot how fast alien babies can run," he huffed as he passed by me.
I giggled.

Finally Neil cornered her by the wall.

"Gotcha!" He exclaimed and scooped her up in his arms.

"NOOOO," She squealed, thrashing her little arms and legs wildly. "I WANT DADDY LOGAN FOR MY BATH!"
Neil winced as Paige repeatedly kicked him in the side.

"Paige sweetie, daddy Logan has gone home to his own house, you need to have a bath," I said gently, attempting to calm her down.

"NO! NO BATH," She screeched again. I sighed.

"How about, if you let Neil give you your bath, we can go to the park when you are all clean?"

"YAY PARK!" She cheered, and Neil carried her to the bath, mouthing me a quick thank you as he walked past.

~*~*~*~*~

"Mommy, look! Slide!" Paige exclaimed as I rolled her into the park in her stroller.
"I want to slide mommy!" I lifted the squirmy toddler out of the stroller and gently set her on the ground.
As soon as I let go, she ran for the slide.

"Paige! Wait for mommy!" I yelled after her.

"Catch me mommy!" She giggled, continuing to run across the park as fast as she could on her fat little legs.
I sighed and ran after her.

When I finally caught up to her at the playground a wave of nausea washed over me, and I ran to the bushes where I quickly emptied the contents of my stomach into the nice flowers. Just as I was feeling another wave of nausea, a hand tentatively touched my shoulder.

"A-are you ok?" A voice squeaked behind me, and I turned around to see an oddly familiar face.

"You're the shirtless guy!" I exclaimed without thinking, and he looked at me strangely.
"Oh my gosh...You're um....Aiden!"
Aiden continued to look at me strangely.

"And you are?"

"Becks. Becks Best. Sorry about that... Logan and I were looking at the magazine you were in this morning."
Aiden's eyes widened in surprise.

"You're a challenge mother! You're dating Logan, right?"
I blushed deeply.

"NO! I mean, we're just friends," I stuttered, and Aiden's smile turned into a smirk.

"Just friends, huh?" He said, an amused tone to his voice.
I glared at him.

"So... Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked, attempting to change the subject.
Aiden laughed.

"No, but I have a boyfriend."
My eyes widened.

"So you're gay?" I said, slightly surprised, and Aiden chuckled again.

"Well actually, I'm Bisexual. But yeah, I like men."

"MOMMY!" Paige shrieked, and Aiden and I cringed.
The toddler came over and clung to my leg.

"Paige sweety, use your indoor voice please," I said, stroking her soft purple hair.
She looked at me confused.

"But mommy, we're outdoors!" She whined. I giggled and picked her up and held her in my arms.
I turned around to face Aiden, and he looked at Paige amazed.

"Is she an alien!?" He exclaimed.
I protectively held her against my shoulder.

"Don't use that word infront of her!" I hissed.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend you!" Aiden explained quickly. "I was just interested because I have an alie-" He stopped and corrected himself. "Baby like her too!"

I raised my eyebrows.
"Really?"

"Yeah. Your daughter, Uh, Paige right? She reminds me of my daughter. She's all grown up now."
He sighed deeply.

As Aiden exhaled, the ground beneath us shook slightly, and from the ground rose a dead, and fairly decayed rabbit.
I stared at the body in fear.
Suddenly, the rabbit jumped up, causing me to scream.

"Oh, shit. I'm sorry," Aiden cursed. "I will get rid of it, hold on."
He raised his arms and closed his eyes, furrowing his brow as if he was focusing on something.
As I watched, the rabbit went limp, and fell to the ground which enveloped it, dragging it back down into the dirt.

I was shaking, my eyes quickly went from the spot the rabbit disappeared, to Aiden.
"H-ow... What... You- you just...." I stuttered holding Paige even tighter.

"Haha!" Aiden laughed. "You look like you just saw a ghost."

"Um, I think I did!" I exclaimed.

Aiden laughed again.
"Actually, that was a zombie. I'm a witch, a necromancer to be exact. I have power over the dead and un-dead."
I stared at him in shock.

"You're a witch? Since when?! Logan said nothing about you being a witch!"

"That's because Logan and I haven't talked since I discovered my powers."
Aiden sighed, and the ground where the rabbit had disappeared quivered a bit.

"Um Aiden?" I put Paige down and touched his shoulder. "Do you want to grab something to eat?" Aiden looked up at me and smiled, and the ground stopped moving.

"Sure! Thanks!" He smiled, and we headed to the nearest restaurant.

~*~*~*~*~

Aiden and I sat silently at the table, while Paige played with her food. After sharing our life stories, we realized that we had more in common than we originally thought. Sadly though, the thing we shared the most was tragedy. We both knew that there was only so much you could say, and after awhile, the best way to get through the pain was to say nothing.
We stayed that way until I felt Paige tugging on my arm.
"MOMMY!" she squealed, breaking both me and Aiden out of our trance.

"What Paige-a-roo?" I lifted her onto my lap and started to clean the mess of food off of her mouth.

"I sweepy. Go home now?" Paige yawned. I looked across the table at Aiden who was texting.

"Sure sweetie. Aiden, do you want to come back to my place?" He looked up from his phone and gave me a cheeky smile.

"You haven't had enough of me yet?" We both laughed.

"I'm sure I can handle you long enough to have a coffee," I scooped Paige up off the bench and brought her out to the car.
Aiden looked out the window as we drove through Sunlit Tides.

"Do you like living here?" He asked, still looking out the window.

"It's ok. The view is great and the heat is a plus, but it just seems so big."

"I take it you're a small town girl?"

"Actually, I grew up in Bridgeport."

Aiden nodded. "Ah, I see. Living there is just the thing to turn you off of city living."

I furrowed my brow. "I don't really remember much about living there, but I'm pretty sure I didn't like it."

Aiden nodded again.
"Have you ever thought about moving?"

"Actually, there is this really nice town called Aurora Skies that I was looking at..." I admitted. "The climate is cool, but the town is centered around a natural hot springs."

"Ohhh, sounds really nice!"

"Yeah! It's really child friendly and filled with young family's. I haven't talked to anyone about it, but I'm really considering it."

Aiden smiled. "Well, If you make a decision, make sure to call me up! It sounds like a great place."

~*~*~*~*~

"So, what do you like in your coffee?" I asked Aiden, while preparing the usual two milk, two sugar for myself.

"As much sugar as you can get to dissolve in there, and 3 shots of chocolate syrup."

"Are you kidding me?" I laughed, pouring sugar into his mug.

"Hey, what can I say? I'm a fat kid at heart," He chuckled as I handed him his steaming cup of sugar.
I went and got Paige settled upstairs in her crib and came back and sat next to Aiden on the couch, watching him sip his coffee.

"So..." Aiden started as he finished his coffee. "Do you have any fathers lined up for your challenge?"

"I see where this is going, and no, I don't have anyone after this pregnancy."

Aiden smiled. "So, could I be the next father?"

I smiled back, "Of course!"

"YAY!" Aiden cheered, bouncing up and down on the couch.

"Never have I seen a man so excited to ejaculate in a test tube,"  We both burst out laughing.

We were on to talking about baby names when I heard the front door open.

"I got groceries! There were no marshmallows but other than that, I got everything on the list."
Neil walked into the living room carrying the grocery bags in his muscular arms and wearing his leather jacket.
Aiden's jaw almost hit the floor.

"Well, well, well," He said seductively as he walked over to Neil. "Who is this lovely piece of man meat you have here, Becks?"
Neil gave me an unsure glance as Aiden continued to examine him.

"That's Neil, my...friend. He is here to help me with Paige."

Aiden nodded. "Just friends, huh? I feel like we have had this conversation before..."
I shot him a "Shut-up-or-I-will slap-you" look and he turned his attention back to his coffee.

"And Neil, this is my friend and the next father for my challenge, Aiden."
Neil reluctantly waved at Aiden, who promptly blew him a kiss.
"He's bi," I reassured a very confused looking Neil.

"Yeah... I think we might have already established that..." Neil awkwardly scratched the back of his head and glanced at one of the grocery bags he had brought into the house. I glanced at it as well, and noticed what looked like a bouquet of flowers sticking out of it.

"AND, he was just leaving," I said quickly.

"Wha-" Aiden cut himself off when he saw the flowers.
"Oh, yes I was. Well you two crazy kids have fun now, bye!" He winked at me and gave me a thumbs up as he walked out of the house, causing me to blush bright red.

"So uh, where are the kids?" I looked around the empty house. I had been too busy with Aiden to realize that none of the older kids had come home from school.

"Mason and Tom are hanging out with their friends, Maggie is at the library, Lourdes is at her guitar lessons, and Jeanie is at her evening painting class,"  Neil responded.

I felt slightly bad that Neil knew what my kids were up to and I didn't.

"So, uh, it's just us?" I asked, and Paige screeched in the nursery upstairs.

"And Paige," Neil laughed. "Go see what she wants, I will get supper ready for us," he prompted.

"Thank you so much!" I smiled, and ran up the stairs to tend to Paige.

"Hey Paige honey, whats wrong?" I cooed to the sobbing tot.

"Mommy! Read me a stowy PWEASEE!" She whined.
I laughed.

"All this fuss just for a story? Hold on darling, let me get a a book," I grabbed a book from the shelf and stood next to the crib and started to read.
"Once upon a time, there were 3 little pigs. One lived in a house made of straw..."

"Mommy," Paige yawned. "I wanna pwincess stowy!"

"Oh, ok. Let me get one for you."
I walked back over to the book shelf and pulled out The Princess and the Pea.
"Ok, what about-"
I looked in the crib, and Paige was fast asleep. Gently laying down the book, I crept out of the room.

I walked back downstairs, and was surprised by how dark it was.
"Neil?" I called.

"In the kitchen!" He replied, and I carefully made my way there in the dark.

"Is the power out or- Oh..."
A small table had been set up in the kitchen, with a candlelit dinner spread out on top.
"What-" I choked, still confused as to what was going on.

"Well, since I'm probably leaving soon, I wanted to do something nice for you," Neil walked around pulled out a chair.
"Have a seat."

I sat on the chair and Neil gently pushed me up to the table.
He soon came out of the kitchen with two steaming plates of lobster thermidor.

"I didn't know you could cook!" I said, taking in the delicious aroma of the dish.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me," Neil replied and I blushed.

"I guess so," I sputtered and he joined me at the table. We ate in mostly silence, occasionally making comments about the food.

We had both finished our food, and the silence was starting to get awkward, when Neil reached across the table, took my hand in his, and looked into my eyes with his piercing lavender ones.
"I've really enjoyed the time I've spent with you. You have a wonderful family and I will miss you all greatly when I leave."

My eyes widened and my heart beat quickened. I didn't know how to respond, but staring into his sad face, I said something I didn't expect.

"Don't leave."

"I- I don't know if I can stay, as much as I want to...."

"Please!" I pleaded. For some reason or another, I hadn't even realized how much I wanted him to stay until it became clear that he was leaving, and I just couldn't let him go yet.

We both stood up from the table and faced eachother

"I guess I could tell my boss I needed to stay longer to monitor Paige..."

I hugged Neil so hard he almost fell over.

"Thank you so much! I can't even tell you how much this means to me- I mean us."

He took my hands again, gently caressing them in his.
"Becks..." He said quietly, "If there is anything I can do for you or your family, I will try my hardest to do it. I promise."
I squeezed his hands. "Thank you Neil. I will hold you to that."

When I went up to bed, all I could think about was the way his hands felt in mine, and I fell asleep wondering how this whole thing was going to turn out for Neil, me, and my family.
I had a good feeling that everything was going to be alright.

A New Addition (Baby #26): New Beginnings Chapter 5

Becks P.O.V

I don't remember what led to me falling asleep on the couch with Neil's muscular arms wrapped around me, but it was nice, in a weird kind of way.

He must have felt me move, because he opened his eyes. He looked over to me and blushed. I blushed too, and he awkwardly unwrapped his arms from my body.

"I-uh I'm going to go get dressed now," Neil stuttered.
"Yeah, me too."

I pulled out an over-sized maternity hoodie, that was surprisingly snug. My stomach was so big now, if it got any bigger it might explode. The baby had to be coming soon.

In the kitchen, Neil was feeding Mason and Tom, and the girls were leaving for school.
Maggie, Lourdes and Jeanie walked into the foyer and I heard Maggie yell "Daddy!"
I hurried into the foyer and saw Logan with Maggie on his shoulders and the other girls giggling. Logan put Maggie down when he saw me and the girls left the house.

"Oh my gosh!" Logan exclaimed, putting his hands on my huge stomach. "Are you having triplets? You're huge!"
We both laughed.
"Actually, I'm only having one."

"No way! That's crazy!"

"Actually it isn't," Neil walked into the foyer. "Alien babies grow much larger in the womb than human babies."

Logan snarled.
"What's this guy doing here? I thought we told you not to come back."

Neil frowned, and I stepped between them.

"I called him. I was wrong, I needed his help with the pregnancy. I was having blackouts."

Logan instantly became worried.
"Oh my gosh, are you ok?"

I nodded. "Yes. Neil filled me in on what I needed to do to get through the pregnancy and since he came I've been fine."

Logan's frown didn't go away.
"You could have called me..." he trailed off, before angrily turning to Neil again.
"Listen here popsicle, if you step out of line again you will be dealing with me, and I'm not going easy on you this time." Logan flashed his razor sharp fangs at Neil and then turned toward the door.

I frowned.
"Wait, Logan! You can stay here for a while if you want."

"I have to go home," He replied harshly without turning around. I could feel the tears stinging my eyes, I never meant to hurt his feelings by calling Neil first.

"Logan," I said again, putting my hand on his shoulder. I was about to apologize when I felt a warm liquid drip down my leg, followed by a hard pain in my abdomen.

The baby was coming.

I must have tightened my grip on Logan's shoulder because he whipped around. Upon seeing the pain in my expression and the puddle that had formed on the floor, his eyes widened.
Neil noticed too and wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Becks! The baby is coming, we have to get you to the hospital now!" He exclaimed.

"I'm not going to the hospital," I said through gritted teeth.
Both men looked at me like I had grown an extra head.

"WHAT?!" They shouted in unison.

"I'm not going to the hospital. I don't like hospitals," I winced. Ever since Jed's death I had avoided hospitals as much as possible. Bad things happened at hospitals.

"Becks listen to me, you have to go to the hospital," Neil pleaded. I shook my head.
Neil was about to get down on his knees and beg me when Logan stopped him.

"Stop. I've know Becks longer than you have and I know that no amount of begging is going to get her to listen if she has her mind set. She is having the baby here whether you like it or not."

Neil sighed loudly.
"Well if that's the case, help me get her to the bath tub."

Logan and Neil hoisted me up and carried me to the bathroom, where Logan put me in the tub and helped me get undressed.

Contractions were wracking my body and I couldn't help but yell out in pain. Neil ran the water in the bathtub and started stripping off his own clothes. Logan gaped at him.

"WHAT THE HECK?!" he exclaimed.

"Take off your clothes," Neil instructed Logan.

"WHAT? NO!" Logan retorted and Neil glared at him.

"Do you want your clothes to get covered in embryonic goo?"

"No..."

"Well strip!"

Logan reluctantly stripped down to his underwear.

My contractions got closer and closer together and finally Neil and Logan helped me into position to start pushing. Logan took my hands and I squeezed his so tight that I could see the pain in his face.

"Ok Becks, PUSH!" Neil yelled and I pushed.

The pain was unbearable, and I yelled out, pushing as hard as I could without fainting. The pressure was relieved and I heard a splash and the cry of a baby.

"It's a girl!" Neil exclaimed and I relaxed and let myself sink into the warm water.

Neil handed me my baby girl and I held her close to me. Her eyes opened to reveal big black spheres.
She cooed and I admired her soft purple hair and green skin.

"What's her name?" Logan asked, looking at her in amazement.

"Paige," I replied and snuggled her.

Neil and Logan were smiling like idiots.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?"
Chloe was standing in the bathroom door, her eyes wide and her open mouth full of marshmallows.
She looked at Logan and Neil, and then at me.
"Why are you two not wearing anything and OH MY GOSH BECKS! She is beautiful!"

Logan and Neil both blushed and I handed Paige to Chloe.
Chloe held her for a minute, before handing her back to me and rushing upstairs to the nursery to get something to dress her in.
She pulled a sweet little cloth diaper on her and put a bow in her thin purple hair.

I cuddled her again, and looked around at my friends, who were all smiles. The worries I had earlier about raising my baby alone vanished. I wasn't alone, I had the best friends in the world to help me through.

~*~*~*~*~

The kids aged up when they came home from school.
Tom and Mason aged into beautiful children, looking more and more like their father each day. The two were inseparable, and did everything together.

The triplets aged into stunning teenagers, all of them a perfect mix of Logan and I.
Maggie was still the fashionista/bookworm, and you could always find her with her nose in a book or sketching fashion designs of her own.

Lourdes had expanded her music beyond just the piano and upon aging up requested guitar and singing lessons.

Jeanie still loved her art, and was experimenting with different mediums, the latest being sketching.

~*~*~*~*~

It was around 11pm, and the house was quiet. Neil had gone for the night to get some more clothes and things for his stay, and Chloe had gone home. Only Logan and I remained in the living room, the kids all asleep, including Paige, who was asleep in Logan's arms.

I was almost asleep myself when I heard a knock on the door. I quietly got off the couch where Logan and Paige were sleeping and tiptoed to the door. When I opened it, I was shocked to see Dai and Adele standing outside.

"Come in!" I whispered and they followed me into the living room. I gently shook Logan awake and his sleepy face became surprised when he saw his daughter. He gently laid Paige in the play pen and hugged Adele.

"How is my baby girl?" He asked, and she nervously looked at the floor. Dai wrapped his arm around her shoulder and whispered something in her ear.

"Mom, dad. We have something to tell you," Dai spoke. He looked at Adele and smiled like an idiot.
"Go on Adele, tell them!"

Adele gripped Dai's hand.
"I'm pregnant."
Neither Logan or I said a word. We just stood there shocked.

Dai looked at me. "Look, I know we're not married yet but we are planning the wedding and we can make this work and-" I cut him off with a huge hug.

"Congratulations!" I kissed my son on the cheek, and then gave Adele a hug too.
Logan hugged them both.

Adele nervously hugged her dad and Logan noticed her apprehension.
"Adele its fine, this is great! You're going to be a wonderful mom," He said to her smiling and her eyes brightened up.

"Thank you daddy!" Adele hugged him again.

"So," I interrupted. "When is the baby due?"

"Well, we have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow, so we will find out then."

Logan looked like he was about to explode with excitement.
"Can I feel the baby?" He placed his hands on Adele's stomach before she could reply.

"Dad, I highly doubt you're going to feel anything yet."

Logan laughed. "I know, I know, I'm just so excited!"

I held Dai's hand. My baby was growing up so fast, and soon he was going to have a baby of his own!
"We will be there with you every minute of the pregnancy! If you ever need our help, we will be right there,"
Dai frowned.

"Well that's the other thing..."

"Whats going on Dai?" I asked.

"We bought a new house, in Moonlight Falls."
Logan's face dropped.

"You... You what?" He looked at Adele who didn't meet his eyes with hers.

"We are moving to Moonlight Falls daddy."

Logan looked like someone had punched him in the stomach and Adele quickly engulfed him in a hug.
"It's ok daddy." She said gently. "We will come visit you whenever we get the chance!"

Logan sighed. "Ok, but we will miss you!"

After chatting a bit more about the baby and the move, Adele and Dai headed back to the apartment they were renting on the other side of town.
"I think I'm going to head home now too." Logan heaved himself up off of the floor where he was sitting watching tv. He turned his back on me and suddenly, I felt like someone was looking at me. I quickly looked at Paige, who stirred in her sleep, almost as if she felt the strange presence too.

"Logan wait!" I called out and he turned around. As soon as Logan was looking my way, the presence vanished, and Paige stopped fidgeting in her sleep.

"What?"

"Can... Can you stay with me for the night?"
Logan's eyes widened, almost like he was scared.

"I just think...Oh gosh, this is going to sound crazy...." I trailed off and put my hands in my head.

"Becks, is everything ok?" Logan sat next to me and tentatively placed his hand on my shoulder.

"You're going to think i'm crazy," I muttered.

"No I won't," He assured me. "Now whats wrong?"

"I feel like someone is watching me... Me and Paige." Logan still looked like he was taking me seriously, so I continued. "Neil said that the aliens might come back and try to take Paige and... I don't want to take any chances with her."
We both looked over at Paige, who had her thumb in her mouth.
Logan bit his lip.

"Let me call Blake and tell him I won't be home tonight."
Logan pulled out his phone and I carried Paige up to my room and laid her on the bed.
I reluctantly left her to go check on Logan who was still on the phone.

"No Blake, we're just friends! I'm not sleeping with her, this isn't even any of your business."
I heard his voice from downstairs and I blushed deeply.
"I swear Blake, if you say ANYTHING to Chloe you will be Mia's official babysitter for life."
Logan laughed at the phone.
"Ok mom. I love you."

He hung up and I came downstairs.
"Was that your mom?" I asked, pretending not to hear the part of the conversation where he mentioned Blake.
"Ha ha, no, it was Blake. He just was telling me to be home before 8. He doesn't want to be alone with Mia for too long."
I laughed too. That Mia was a trouble maker.
"So...." Logan shuffled awkwardly. "Are we going to go to bed?"

"I guess so yeah." I replied, and we headed upstairs.
I crawled into bed next to Paige who rested her head on my stomach, and Logan started to set up some kind of makeshift bed on the floor.

"Uh, Logan?"

"Yeah?"

"You can sleep up here if you want," I said quickly.
Logan bit his lip awkwardly.

"Are you sure?" He asked, obviously thinking back to the other times we shared a bed.

"No, its ok, you can lie on the bed if it would be more comfortable for you," I assured him.
Logan got on the bed and Paige instantly left me to snuggle with him.
"Hmph, I see how it is," I said jokingly and Logan and I laughed.
I looked at my baby girl curled up with her head on Logans muscular chest made me smile. Logan saw me smiling at him and I quickly looked away.

"What?" he asked, and I looked back at Paige.

"She just loves you so much," I admitted and Logan smiled.

"I'm sure she loves you more," He chuckled "Although I think she loves me more than my real kids do."
I laughed too.

"You can be her honorary daddy if you want?" I suggested and Logan looked at me shocked.

"What? I thought you would want Neil to be her father figure..." He trailed off.

"Why would I? You are like, the best father there is. Most of my kids already consider you family."
Logan smiled at my comment.

"So you're saying I'm like, super daddy?" He suggested wiggling his eyebrows.

"Hmm maybe super vain daddy?" Logan jokingly rolled his eyes and we laughed together, being careful not to wake up Paige, who was now quietly lying between us.
Logan lay back and crossed his arms behind his head, looking at the ceiling.

"Can I ask you something?" He said keeping his gaze on the ceiling.

"Sure,," I responded, watching his eyes wander around the room.

"Are you going to continue your challenge?"
The question took me by surprise.

"I- I don't know..." I brought my hand to my face and chewed on my nails. I had tried not to think about my challenge since Jed died, but having Paige changed things.

"I mean, after Jed died I thought I was finished, and I was ok with Mason and Tom being my last kids. Now though, having Paige changed everything," I paused and stroked her soft purple hair, and she cooed in her sleep. "I don't think i'm ready to give this up..."
Logan nodded.

"Have you thought about how you would continue?" He asked.

"Probably the way Chloe does it, with AI and random donors."
Logan nodded again.
"I don't know if I could do the random donors though..."
I looked at Logan and I suddenly got an idea.

"Logan, do you want to be the next father in my challenge?"
Logan finally tore his eyes from the ceiling.

"What?! Like," He quickly looked from me to him, and then back again. "Now?"
I laughed at his apparent panic.

"Gosh no, at the AI clinic tomorrow." Logan exhaled deeply.

"I'm sorry... I thought..." He blushed.
We both laughed.

"So tomorrow?" I asked and Logan confirmed with a nod.

"Its a date. Now get some sleep, if you want to have my baby, you need to be in top health."
I jokingly hit his arm, and I closed my eyes, Paige's soft quick breathing lulling me to sleep.
